For their annual Rec Fest, Loyola Marymount University wanted to elevate the event experience with a giveaway that felt fresh, memorable, and different from prior years. The goal was to create something that would stand out to students and spark excitement on campus.

The strategy

Drawing on inspiration from an innovation event led by our DesignLab team in partnership with supplier partners, the Brand Advisor for LMU identified creative ways to make a standard event shirt stand out.

- Ghost Ink printing added a fun, interactive twist, with a hidden design that appears when the shirt gets wet — creating a surprising and memorable experience.

- The focus was on creating an on-trend, conversation-worthy product that tied into LMU’s Rec Fest spirit while still being cost-effective and event-friendly.

- Early concept proofs and design collaboration with LMU’s team ensured the final product reflected the school’s brand and resonated with students.

The solution

Club Colors worked closely with the LMU Campus Recreation team to refine the artwork and finalize the Ghost Ink shirt design.

- The subtle yet eye-catching decoration made the shirt a standout giveaway.

- By managing the proofing and production process end-to-end, the team ensured quality and timely delivery for the event.

The outcome

The Ghost Ink shirts were an immediate hit at Rec Fest:
