Austin Peay State University – Honoring Veterans on Campus

The opportunity
Austin Peay State University’s Office of Veterans Education Benefits wanted to do something meaningful for its large military and veteran community in recognition of Veterans Day. They were looking for branded items that would reflect school pride, honor service, and leave a lasting impression.
The strategy
Club Colors focused on creating thoughtful, high-impact items that celebrated both school spirit and patriotism.
- Collaborated closely with the university’s Office of Veterans Education Benefits to understand their vision.
- Curated items that not only carried practical value but also held emotional significance for the recipients.
- Ensured each product connected back to the university’s identity and mission to honor veterans.
The solution
The final selection featured a mix of meaningful and functional branded merchandise:
- A custom Challenge Coin featuring the school mascot and the message “Thank you for your service”.
- A branded umbrella featuring the school’s beloved slogan “Let’s Go Peay!”.
- A Basecamp journal, chosen for its quality and purpose — a portion of every purchase goes directly to the Wounded Warriors Project, reinforcing the initiative’s spirit of support and gratitude.
These items together created a cohesive way to honor and celebrate Austin Peay’s veteran community.
The outcome
The project received enthusiastic feedback and strong appreciation from the university community.
- The thoughtfully curated items made a meaningful impression on veteran students and staff, celebrating their service and strengthening their connection to the school.
- The initiative highlights how branded merchandise can go beyond logos to create connection, honor service, and foster community pride.
